Year 2001

Human rights activities and work on increasing the institutional capacity of Ukrainian CSOs

Expanding Focus and Influence

Beginning in 2001, the “Nova Heneratsiia” revised its focus to include areas beyond youth policy. It started working on citizen engagement, developing local public policy, and addressing local issues. From 2005, the Organization became actively involved in human rights education and began working to improve the institutional capacity of other non-governmental organizations.

Today, the Public Organisation “Hromadskyi Tsentr “Nova Heneratsiia” is a leading civil society organization in southern Ukraine. Since the early 2000s, it has been actively sharing its experience with other local CSOs.

To do this, we advise CSOs on the following topics:

  • Organizational capacity assessment;
  • Strategic plan development;
  • Studying the target audience’s needs;
  • Methods for engaging citizens in decision-making processes;
  • Project management;
  • Developing advocacy campaigns.
